Festival Musikaleidos 2018

The theme of 2018 was the transition from darkness to light, not as opposing states but as lenticular images of the same reality, in a movement made possible by the optics of circularity and sharing.
The Festival kicked off in May with the “Componi la tua luce” songwriting workshop, led by music therapist Tobia Simone Tuveri, aimed at creating a musical composition centered on the theme of light. Through this creative technique, children and young people were involved in producing a musical piece as instrumental and vocal authors. The lyrics produced were the result of emotional work, through which each participant had the opportunity to release difficulties, fears, moods, and hopes into a shared container of rhythms-sounds-words, entrusting them to the beauty of music. The original composition was transcribed and later performed and recorded in early June by the classes from the Direzione Didattica di Is Mirrionis and the Istituto Comprensivo “Manzoni” di Maracalagonis, in three concert events titled “Fiumi di luce”.
At the end of June, the invaluable “Tales of Light” vocal and choral workshop took place, conducted by the M° Luca Scaccabarozzi, an exceptional guest conductor! A two-day training event that culminated on the evening of June 30 with a concert on the theme of light, held in the splendid setting of the Sala del Consiglio in Palazzo Regio. On July 19, we spent a special evening with the Swing it up! concert, performed by the vocal trio The Longuettes, accompanied by pianist Andrea Schirru. It was also a moment intended to raise funds for the Emergency Group in Cagliari. The Festival concluded in October at the newly opened Vitanova restaurant with the event “Aggiungi un pop a tavola”: a lunch accompanied by live music, served by the young people from the Domus Agape Cooperative, which was founded with the aim of supporting hospitality, recreational, and agricultural activities aimed at the social and work inclusion of disadvantaged people. The best way to celebrate the first anniversary of our Association together!
