Festival Musikaleidos 2024
The Festival kicked off on Sunday, April 7, at the provincial headquarters of UICI, located at Via del Platano 27, with a music therapy workshop led by professor and music therapist Sergio Meloni. The workshop allowed participants to explore multisensory experiences using the ‘Disinneddas,’ an instrument designed and created by Sergio Meloni to enable individuals to perceive the sounds produced while drawing.
On Friday, April 19, at the provincial headquarters of UICI on Via del Platano 27, and on Saturday, May 25, at the Fondazione di Sardegna premises on Via San Salvatore da Horta 2, a vocal workshop on the ANÚNA technique took place under the guidance of Lucy Champion, education co-ordinator and soloist of the prestigious Irish ensemble ANÚNA, a multi-award-winning group with an impressive discography of 19 successful albums.
On Saturday, May 25, at the Collegiate Church of Sant’Anna on Via Azuni, ANÚNA performed a concert with traditional Irish music arranged by M° Michael McGlynn, an internationally renowned composer and the founder of ANÚNA. The performance took place before a large and enthusiastic audience.
On Saturday, June 8, at the Public Gardens of Cagliari in Largo Dessì, an event dedicated to children was held. The musical workshop “Crescere con la musica” welcomed around 40 children, divided into age groups: 0-18 months, 18-36 months, 3-5 years, and 6-8 years. The workshop was led by professor and music therapist Stefania Coccoda, director of the white hands choir MusicaLìs and tutor at the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Cagliari for the Education Sciences program.
On Sunday, June 16, in the “Sala dei Ritratti” of Palazzo Siotto, M° Antonio Luciani, pianist and professor at the Cagliari Conservatory, in collaboration with violinist Davide De Ascaniis, performed a chamber music concert including works by César Franck, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and Albert Markov.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Feniarco (Federazione Nazionale Italiana delle Associazioni Regionali Corali), the Italian Youth Choir, conducted by M° Filippo Maria Bressan, performed on Friday, June 28 in the beautiful setting of the Collegiate Church of Sant’Anna, once again in front of a large audience. Founded by Feniarco in 2003 and composed of 40 young singers from all over Italy, this choir is a unique ensemble in the Italian choral scene and has been led over the years by some of the country’s most renowned conductors.
On Saturday, July 20 at Palazzo Regio and Sunday, July 21 (8:15 PM) at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, the vocal group Gocce d’Armonia from Marostica (VI) performed two concerts exploring their sacred and secular repertoire. Active since 2008, the group has participated in numerous competitions, winning several awards, and has often been selected as a workshop choir for masterclasses organized by Venetian associations and conservatories.
On September 28, a concert was held at the Church of San Lucifero, featuring the guest choir Cantori della Resurrezione. This choral ensemble, founded in 1986 by M° Antonio Sanna, has been organizing the “Musica, Maestro!” festival since 2011. The event was presented in collaboration with FERSACO (Federazione Regionale Sarda Associazioni Corali) and was part of the regional choral festival “CorosJuntos.”
Finally, in October and November, a series of four meetings titled “I simboli del Sacro,” led by M° Niccolò Porcedda, took place. Each session focused on a specific aspect of the Sacred, symbolized by an object: the staff, the veil, the cloak, and emptiness. These symbols served as a bridge between the realm of human experience and that of transcendence. Musical selections provided the sonic expression of these characteristics, guiding the audience on a mysterious and fascinating journey through Gregorian chant to contemporary music, exploring a dimension that is deeply rooted in human experience and connects us to a profound otherness.
